Biography

Pace (she or they) serves as the Program Manager for the on-campus counseling program in the Los Altos School District through Adolescent Counseling Services. In this role, they support a team of school-based therapists and collaborate with district leaders to ensure students receive high-quality, culturally responsive mental health care. Originally from Hollister, California, Pace has long been rooted in the Bay Area and is deeply committed to serving its diverse youth and families. They earned their Masters of Science in Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State East Bay and bring clinical experience working with children, teens, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, and identity development. Pace brings a strong commitment to youth mental health, with an emphasis on culturally responsive, and strengths-based care. Before stepping into the Program Manager role, they worked as a school-based therapist with ACS, offering direct counseling services to elementary students. Their therapeutic work centers the unique needs of each child, often using play therapy, grounding techniques, and narrative approaches. Prior to joining ACS, Pace led after-school programs at BAWSI, where they served girls from under-resourced neighborhoods and children with disabilities, using sports to foster resilience and confidence. They also held leadership roles in the arts and culture sector, gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management, and community engagement. Passionate about equity and access, Pace is especially dedicated to supporting queer youth, marginalized populations, and families navigating complex systems. They believe deeply in the power of collaboration between school teams, caregivers, and community partners to create environments where all young people can thrive.
