Biography

Hunter Fredericksen (They/Them) is a trans masculine nonbinary Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about supporting youth in exploring their identities, building resilience, and finding embodiment. Originally from Orange County, Hunter earned their Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and Psychology & Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine. Before returning to the field of psychology, Hunter worked for several years as an optician, serving elderly clients in skilled nursing homes and rehabilitation centers throughout Southern California. Called back to their passion for mental health, Hunter recently completed a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an LGBTQ+ counseling emphasis at Santa Clara University, driven by a commitment to better serve marginalized communities. Hunter began their journey with Adolescent Counseling Services as a clinical intern through both the Outlet Program and the On-Campus Counseling Program at Woodside High School. They are especially drawn to working with trans and nonbinary youth and are committed to creating affirming spaces for clients navigating intersecting identities, including gender, disability, learning differences, and other experiences of marginalization. Outside of their clinical work, Hunter finds joy in hiking adventures, working out, playing board games, and spending quality time in nature with friends and family.
