I’m a retired computer scientist, an east coast transplant thanks to a college internship. Inspired by my mother, I’ve been active in community volunteer work for decades. I understand the tremendous power of community when facing difficult challenges in life.

It was our younger son, Rayden, who brought me to ACS. Rayden was an Outlet client and asked me to support ACS. Knowing how important the Agency was to him, I said yes. As I came to learn more about how ACS and Outlet helped him, I became more passionate about supporting ACS, with both our money and my time.

ACS is a unique organization because of our passion and compassion. We’re unique because we can take a productive view of the entire client, understanding that mental health is complex and multi-dimensional. We’re unique because we provide experiential training in the unique needs mental health needs of adolescents.

If I had to choose among ACS’s programs, Outlet and the Philippe Rey Institute are the focal points of my passion. I’m passionate about Outlet because of our family’s personal contact with the program. I’m passionate about the Philippe Rey Institute of Psychotherapy & Training because it promises to provide ACS with leverage, allowing us to help more people, more youth, more families by training therapists in ways that only start with our internship program, but will expand into working with practicing mental health practitioners to provide specific education, allowing them to work more effectively with youth.
